This starts out as a normal (well, kind of) eBay add for a haunted (it’s not that uncommon) item. This just happens to be a Barney doll that sneaks into bed with you and stares at you. It also steals socks, apparently. That’s not the end of it. Keep on reading for the SUPRISE ENDING OHMYGOSH. Needless to say it’s a little odd.
There is a new community called PortalMaps that is just that: new maps for Portal. Yeah! I can’t wait to try these bad boys out. Since I have beaten Portal 3 times now I need some more action-jackson.
In other Portal related news….
I gotta see if I can talk my mom into showing me how to make on of these bad boys. Everyone needs a weighted companion cube plushy. Everyone! Here’s the tread on 4chan (SFW, oddly).
I might also have to check out this Half-Life 2 hack that allows you to play HL2, HL2:1 and HL2:2 with aide of the handy dandy portal gun. Take that combine! That would make the end of Episode One pretty darn easy. Hell, it’d make all of them pretty dang easy; let’s not kid ourselves.
An interesting article was linked on Neatorama about how the moon has affected the earth and its inhabitants. Personally I think it is just a giant device created by the Russians to spy on us Americans. Those cowardly reds….
If you would take away the Moon suddenly, it would change the global altitude of the ocean. Right now there is a distortion which is elongated around the equator, so if we didn’t have this effect, suddenly a lot of water would be redistributed toward the polar regions.
Thanks to Paul for this link, you know me all to well sir. Oh, don’t read this article if you’re at work and people there are hyper-sensitive.
Besides being tasty and containing the nutrients that zombies need, brains make an excellent lube for jacking off or intercourse. And if you lick up the gray matter afterwards, you don’t have to waste a drop of precious amino acids.
Wow. This is just sad. Apparantly on the KU campus a stencil promoting Coheed and Cambria’s new album No World for Tomorrow was taken as a school shooting death threat. The date 10-23-07 (the date of the album’s realease) was assumed to be the day the fateful shooting would occur.
It all started a couple of weeks ago when someone shot out some windows at a dorm while students were on fall break. Then, fast forward to this week and some graffiti was spotted with Tuesday’s date written right underneath it.
Today the authorities raided a small flat in England and a server farm in Amsterdam. They were raiding because these two locations were owned by Oink.cd, my favorite torrent tracker. It seems that my days of extremely easy access to music are over (at least for the next week or so).
The IT worker was led from his home in the town’s Grange Road and is being questioned on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and infringement of copyright law.
At the same time his employer - a large multi-national company - and his father’s home were also raided.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: “This extremely lucrative and creative scheme consisted of a private file-sharing website being set up. Membership was by invitation only.
It’s funny how wrong these guys have it. They assume that Oink’s main purpose was to disseminate high-quality music. If a pre-release track was not up to snuff then it would be shunned by the collective and removed from the server.
Members paid ‘donations’ via debit or credit cards, ensuring their continued access to the site. Users were only invited to join the site if they could prove that they had music to offer
–IFPI spokesman
Oink was not about money. If it was about money then why was the owner of the site working at a “large multi-national company”? He wouldn’t need to work, he could live like a king off of the ad revenue. Oink was about community. Oink was about high-quality music. Oink was about saying “fuck you” to the record companies. So fuck you record companies.
If this is anything like when they arrested the owners of thepiratebay Oink will be back up in no time and all the more popular for it. The Oink servers did not actually “serve” any illegal or copyrighted materials. Good luck pinning anything on them. Give the article on The Pirate Bay on wikipedia a once-over. There is some interesting stuff in there.
